Lost Worlds in Cyberspace

lostworld

I was listening to Radio 4 this morning and a programme about the mass extinction event which wiped out the dinosaurs and led to the rise of the mammals came on. This reminded me that the 1923 silent version of The Lost World is (a) out of copyright and (b) available on line as an MP4 video. Its available from the internet multimedia archive which has lots of other free goodies. Highlights for me included the 1936 version of the Wells Classic Shape of Things to Come as well as the Max Fleischer animated Supermans from the 1940’s.
The archive also links to free text sites like the Gutenberg project so you’ll be able to get online texts like Darwins Origin of Species, Einsteins Relativity or Shelley’s Frankenstein.
