Milky Way from Battle Hill


In the wee small hours of Saturday morning, one of CASE’s hardened astronomers, Allan Trow, took this beautiful picture of the Milky Way during the Perseid meteor shower

Note the “small” fuzzy object about one-third of the way up the picture towards the right-hand side. That’s the Andromeda galaxy

Andromeda is the furthest you can see with your naked eye, at around 3 million light years . . .
