Mooning in Ponty

Ever wondered about that strange dome on top of G Block?  Well hidden inside is a telescope which can see out to one third to the edge of the universe.

As you can imagine, taking pictures of the Moon is relatively straightforward by comparison.  But not in Ponty.  First you have to wait until it stops raining, and that can take some time.  Just in case you needed to know, we get around 60 clear nights a year, and this week we had some beautiful crisp and clear winter nights.

So, last Wednesday night, CASE students made their way into the secret observatory which sits silently underneath the great dome.  And they took this fantastic snap of our nearest neighbour in space
