More Comic Book Heroism …

A big screen version of the 1970’s classic Wonder Woman, is to be written and directed by father of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the much admired SF series FireflyJoss Whedon. Whedon is still writing his script for Wonder Woman, but has said he would start the process this autumn, after launching Serenity, the movie based on his cancelled SF TV series. Naomi gets very excited as the very mention of Joss Whedon’s name and Neil gets very excited thinking about Amazonian princesses with golden lassoes so the back office is likely to be abuzz for some time.

    I’m wondering when the Wonder Women bubble is going to burst (Ouhh-Err Misses). I’m referring to Buffy, Laura Croft, Max (Dark Angel), Xena, etc. Even our own home grown Rose from Doctor Who.

    All you budding writers out there make sure your hero is a heroine, don’t worry about plot but make sure there are a lot of interpersonal ‘relationships’ and you’re on to a winner!

    Am I starting to sound a little cynical?
