NASA Praises University Astronomers

NASA has voiced high praise for the work of the University’s Centre for Astronomy and Science Education (CASE).

The commendation comes as a result of CASE’s contribution to the new Astrobiology Magazine, European Edition.  The magazine highlights European scientists who study the history of life on Earth, and the possibility for life beyond our world.

The Spring ‘Spotlight on France’ issue contains the CASE-led Retrospections section, which features articles by Mark Brake and Reverend Neil Hook. They discuss the contributions made to science fiction by Camille Flammarion and Jules Verne in separate pieces. Mark Brake and Martin Griffiths also review the life of the French astronomer Messier and explain how his findings add to the debate about alien life.

Helen Matsos of NASA said, “This transatlantic publishing venture for the Spring edition of AMEE is a true collaborative success.  The contributions have undoubtedly raised the level of professional quality science journalism for Astrobiology Magazine. We at Astrobiology Magazine aim to rise to the challenge of meeting this level in all of our future collaborations.”

Helen also had great praise for CASE’s Rob Miller who did much of the editorial work for the magazine, and whose “expertise and dedication, as well as editorial input, have helped us to make this issue a professional quality product. We look forward to future successful collaborations as we move forward in this exciting publishing endeavor.”

That post above isn’t by me. Someone is impersonating me. ISeLS are looking into it. Sorry to all at The Difference Engine.

If you’re going to become a hot-shot flamer at least invent yourself a cool name and don’t pinch mine.
