Atrium PhD Student Nominated for Writing Award

On July 22, 2008 we covered the story below. It pleases us greatly to announce that Geraint’s story has now nominated in the Preditors and Editors Poll for best short Science fiction/Fantasy Story of 2008! Well done, Geraint, and good luck.

Original story:

Geraint D’Arcy, PhD student and theatre technician at the Cardiff Campus has recently been published in a new science fiction anthology from Hadley-Rille Books.

Barren Worlds is a collection of stories imaging the desolate places in the Universe. Geraint’s story “The Sound of Sun Rising” is accompanied by twenty eight other excellent stories and would make the kind of fantastic and imaginative summer reading that you would never see Richard and Judy recommend.

Hadley-Rille Book’s previous publications have made short lists for Nebula Awards and have made Gardner Dozois’s short lists and publication in The Year’s Best Science Fiction.

The latest in a line of successful Science fiction anthologies is now available here from Amazon. Geraint’s work has previously appeared in Jupiter SF and All Possible Worlds Magazine, His first collection of poetry containing speculative and slipstream work, Poetry in a Louder Voice, is available for pre-order here, it will be launched in August.
